Legendary singer, Charles Oputa popularly known as Charly Boy or Area Fada is set to hold thanksgiving over his life.
Kemi Filani reported weeks back that Charly Boy shared his battle with prostate cancer.
The singer cum activist, in a post on his Instagram page, recounted how he survived prostate cancer.
While sharing a video of him being wheeled out of the theatre, Charly Boy disclosed saying that he had been battling the ailment for over 10 days.
According to him, being a survivor is the greatest favor God has done for him.
He appreciated God for sparing his life and his family for their support as well as thanked the Nigerian doctor who performed his surgery.
“Gosh,
I have fought one too many battles in my short life.
Most of the time, I win.
Prostate cancer cannot cripple love, it cannot shatter hope, it cannot conquer his spirit.
Abegi makes una help me thank God for giving me yet another chance”.
In an update to it, the singer revealed that he is set to hold a Thanksgiving to thank God for sparing his life.
The controversial singer is hopeful that his instrument begins to function again.
“I dey go thank God for sparing my life, from Prostrate Cancer.
Hopefully, my instrument go begin function again, I go let una know cos I go do another Thanksgiving for dat one.

Charly Boy gives update on his marriage after hinting at divorce
Last year, Charly Boy had hinted at divorce from his wife of 45 years, Diane Oputa.
The controversial singer took to his Twitter page to vent over how tiring his marriage had become.
He questioned how his followers would feel if he told them he was returning to bachelorhood.
Defending his reason for divorce, he stated that the longer he stayed, the harder it got as marriage isn’t easy.
Taking to his comment section, a fan advised him to make his marriage work.
The fan advised him to travel with his wife, play outside, and shouldn’t allow quarrels to linger.
Charly Boy replied that he was fed up with the marriage.
Taking back his words, Charly Boys stated that his marriage is still intact.
He noted how his post had led many to rejoice over his marital failure.
According to him, he was only talking to his people.
