Nigerian dancehall singer Cynthia Morgan, now known as Madrina, has sent a message to her colleagues.
In the wake of Cubana Chief Priest’s beef with Burna Boy, where he alleged that he paid him money years back to perform at his concert, Cynthia recounted how she was paid N1 million for a show in 201,8, and later, they claimed she asked them out and was stalking them.
Using herself as a case study, she admonished her colleagues to stop settling for less or collecting meager for performances.
“Make artiste no dey collect beggy beggy show again. Na so Maleke, beg me to pay me N1 million for the show for 2018. They later say na I toast them, say I even they stalk them. Crãzy world”.
Last year, after Samklef shared a list of the people he has helped in the music industry, Cynthia expressed how grateful she was that Samklef only bought ‘Mama Put’ (food) once for her; if not, he would have dragged her. Urging people to check on him, she noted how betrayal can make one lose balance.
In April, Morgan recalled how she cut off a guy who told her not to make the news of Olamide’s financial assistance to her public because he felt the money was too small. She added that though she wanted to keep Olamide’s gesture private, his statement made her do otherwise. She noted how the same N1 million was what her former label loaned her and yet still insulted her.
In different news, the former dancehall singer took a shot at her colleagues, Burna Boy and Wizkid, for downplaying Afrobeats. She noted how 90 percent of artists talking trash about Afrobeats were seeking validation from it and were struggling to be its Prince or King. Now, they have used Afrobeats to climb up and want to talk down on the popular genre.
She had also called out Mavins over Rema’s smoking addiction. In a warning message to Don Jazzy, she stated that should anything happen to him, she would find their office.
In other news, Cynthia called out the music industry over its fake love and friendship, stating that people only remember you when you’re trending or they need you to help them kill a beat. She recounted how during her crisis only two people showed up for her, while others especially those she had worked with shunned her.
