Nigerian singer Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo, better known by his stage name, Dbanj, has expressed gratitude to the box office Queen Funke Akindele.
Kemi Filani reported on Monday that Funke had been left speechless and overwhelmed as Everybody Loves Jenifa grosses 1.6 billion, thereby beating her previous record. An emotional Funke expressed gratitude to her millions of fans and supporters and credited God for doing it for her.
Joining her to rejoice over the good news, Dbanj specially greeted her and congratulated her on her new record. He expressed how honored he was to have been part of the project, which he described as amazing.
“I must greet my sister and Executive Producer @funkejenifaakindele so specially ! Congratulations on 1.6B, I’m so honored to have been part of such an amazing project! OoossSSsHhhEee”.
Taking to his comment section, Funke appreciated him for the post as she noted how his support made an impact.
“Brother mi. Aw, thank you so much. It’s for us o. Congratulations to us. Your support really made an impact. God bless you always. Love you baje”.
Recall that during Funke’s Everybody Loves Jenifa movie premiere, she had expressed gratitude to Dbanj over his support for her and her Jenifa brand. The movie star recounted how Dbanj stopped his personal project to support her and he did it at no cost.
Also, during singer Dbanj’s anniversary dinner in June, Funke recounted how God used him to speak to her to keep her popular Jenifa brand. The award-winning actress revealed that the singer was the one who encouraged her to keep the Jenifa brand on fire and had supported her financially to carry out her next project.
Dbanj’s support and belief in Funke and her Jenifa brand has undoubtedly taken her far.
In others news, some weeks back, Funke had opened up on the hard times she experienced before rising to stardom. She shared a video of herself being active on the set of her highest-grossing billion-dollar movie, A Trībe Called Judah, as she counted herself as a testimony of believing in herself, saying she faced different challenges but learned to stand tall and encourage others because of them.
She had also disagreed with a Twitter user who spoke out on her work ethic. The tweep revealed how she gets inspired by the award-winning filmmaker and stated that when she wants to rest, she remembers Funke is not resting and as such, continues her hustle. Disagreeing with her, Funke stated that she takes some time off to rest well.
