Nollywood actor Deyemi Okanlawon has tackled former presidential aide Reno Omokri for referring to Augustine Eguavoen, the new coach of the Super Eagle as local.
This comes following the performance of the Super Eagle in the ongoing AFCON, and Reno Omokri seemed impressed with the job of the coach.
According to Reno Omokri, Augustine Eguavoen, a local coach, is doing what Gernot Rohr, a foreign coach, could not do during his time.
Reno Omokri added that sometimes what people are looking for outside is actually in the pocket and commended the Super Eagle for making Nigerians proud.
He wrote: What can I say? What a foreign coach could not do, a local coach is doing. Sometimes, what you are looking for outside is actually in your pocket. Augustine Eguavoen is doing a stellar job. The boys are doing us proud and the super in Super Eagles is not hype. It is reality.
Reacting to the post, Deyemi Okanlawon tackled Reno Omokri, urging him to replace the word ‘Local’ with homegrown or home base because he is Nigerian enough to know that local is an insult and causes devaluing.
Deyemi wrote: Dear @renoomokri kindly replace it with a homegrown/home base… you’re Nigerian enough to know local to us is an insult and causes devaluing.
Kemi Filani News recall Deyemi Okanlawon, known for his lover boy movies roles, in his 9th wedding anniversary post on January 5, 2022, prayed for God to help him and other handsome menfolk in marriage.
While throwing a shout out to his wife for they have been able to pull through 9 years of their wedding, the actor and father of two, Deyemi Okanlawon wrote thus:
“This is what 9 years together looks like… and as those of you with eyes can see I’m still finer than her. Meanwhile guys, before you do “awwwn” and “couple goals” pls I need you to note the following:
i) While I choose to share the good times pls know that the BTS of my family posts involves a lot of disagreements, not speaking plus the once or twice in a year outbursts of “I’m leaving” (thank God we have more sense and patience now).
ii) I am so flawed and make a lot of mistakes but I’m truly putting in the work to be a better human – Christian, husband, father, son, brother, friend, colleague, mentee, mentor and citizen. God help me and my fellow menfolk (especially those of us that are handsome).
