Nollywood actress Ekene Umenwa and her husband have dedicated their child to Mother Mary.
Kemi Filani reported in September that Ekene announced that she welcomed her first fruit in the US. She revealed that what she went through Jesus and Mother Mary can explain. Expressing gratitude to her Maker, she went on to praise mothers as she prayed for awaiting mothers.
The movie star, who has returned to Nigeria following the birth of their child, revealed that the flight shifting couldn’t stop her from taking her baby to Mother Mary before she entered her father’s house. She disclosed that this is what she told her mother before she left.

It isn’t surprising to see Ekene dedicate her daughter to Mother Mary as the movie star has been dedicated to her faith. During her pregnancy, Ekene had channeled her inner Virgin Mary for her maternity shoot. She expressed how blessed she was by the Lord’s mercy as she described her pregnancy journey as a wonderful experience. She appreciated Mother Mary for standing by her throughout, and in her humble attempt to honor her, she dressed like Mother Mary for her maternity shoot.
Also, after her wedding, Umenwa recounted how she prayed and fasted before picking her Chief bridesmaids. She claimed that she wanted to pick her maid of honor herself but the Holy Spirit didn’t allow her. She disclosed that she had to fast and pray for 9 days and Jesus told her to allow him to select the best for her and He led her to her colleague, Chinenye Nnebe, which was the best decision.
Recall that Ekene Umenwa made headlines on her wedding day, last year when a video of her leaving her husband to embrace and kneel before Gospel singer, Moses Bliss made rounds online.
