Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has finally addressed rumours that she is the brain behind the popular anonymous blog Gistlover.
In an interview with Ayo Makun for his podcast, Glass House, she questioned how she could be behind the blog and yet be dragging herself and her daughter on the same blog. Iyabo revealed that she found out that the people close to her were the ones sending wrong information to the blogger.
“How would I be Gistlover and I’d drag myself and my daughter on that same blog. When Gistlover was dragging me, I found out it was the people close to me sending the wrong information to the blogger”.
For years, many tried to unravel the identity of the brain behind the anonymous blog.
Controversial investigative journalist Kemi Olunloyo unveiled Iyabo Ojo and Tonto Dikeh as the faces behind Gistlover. She claimed that an IRT police officer confirmed that they were Gistlover.
Actor Yomi Fabiyi claimed that two actresses were major players in the syndicate. He alleged that one is a Diaspora actress who derived her name from the line OBA from “Edunjobi Oba Oma”, as she is a twin, and the other, he claimed, is a top Yoruba actress who is very close to Iyabo Ojo and has become her imminent nemesis. However, he made it known that Iyabo isn’t a Gistlover
Recall that last year, three men were apprehended and were identified as members of the Gist Lover Family syndicate, responsible for managing the controversial Gist Lover blog. The trio’s arrest shed light on the alleged criminal activities conducted through the Gist Lover platform, which has gained notoriety for cyber-stalking, incitement, blackmail, and other illicit practices.
Gist Lover, for years, was a source of distress for numerous celebrities. The blog is infamous for exposing personal details and problems of public figures. Many individuals have fallen victim to Gist Lover’s damaging narratives, prompting concerns about the impact on the lives and reputations of those targeted.
Mocking the blog’s downfall, crossdresser, Bobrisky noted how his proclamation that the blog’s days were numbered had come to pass. Bobrisky noted how the blog wrote several articles about him for years, as he questioned where the blog is now.
Joining Bobrisky, Very Dark Man had bragged about ending the reign of Gistlover. He stated that it should be known that he finished the blog and finally chased them away, and added that God backs him and has never met his Waterloo.
