Nigerian comedian Klingtoncod has weighed in on celebrity barman Cubana Chief Priest’s explanation for why he was absent at his friend Davido’s wedding in Miami.
Kemi Filani reported that Chief Priest explained the reason for missing Davido’s wedding. He pleaded with the US government to approve his visa, noting how disappointed and hurt many were over his absence. The socialite believed that delay isn’t denial, as he revealed that he was still hopeful.
Taking to the micro-blogging platform Twitter, now known as X, Klintoncod expressed doubt at the story of Chief Priest as he noted how Israel DMW, who isn’t fluent in English, was able to gain access to the country.
He wondered how a billionaire like Chief Priest could be struggling with a visa, yet his wife and kids have access. The comedian stated that the socialite doesn’t want to be honest about why he can’t touch US soil.
“You see that Chief Priest story of being denied a US visa, I also doubt that story sha, Israel wey no sabi speak English like that enter Miami, na Billionaire chief priest dem come deny visa but wife and kids get, baba know why him no wan touch US soil sha”.
Tackling him, a tweep noted how Chief Priest explained the incident in an interview, that he was a nobody when he applied through an agent, and he was denied.
“He has explained this in an interview that during the time that he was still a nobody when he was applying through an agent, which he was denied, and since then till now the never granted him access of entering the states and he does no if it was the mistake from the agent”.
Still standing on his words, Klintoncod said he still doesn’t believe it.
“Dad talk still!!”.
Cubana is undoubtedly one of the biggest fans and supporters of Davido and his wife, Chioma, who hails from his state, Imo, so we doubt he would intentionally miss their wedding.
Recall that when Davido and Chioma reconciled in 2022, Cubana was overjoyed as he took to social media to pray for the couple to welcome another child. While hailing Chioma, Chief Priest dissed Sophia Momodu, the singer’s first baby mama, noting how Davido and Chioma’s relationship is ‘sweeting’ some people and “paining” others.
When Chioma celebrated her birthday last year, Cubana expressed pride in her, hailing her for making indigenes of Imo proud. He stated that Chioma’s positivity represents all Imolites so well, and he rained prayers on her.
Days before their June traditional wedding, Cubana had thanked Davido for not discarding his sister, and Davido had stated that he could never.
On their wedding day, Cubana had worn an Agbada, which he claimed was worth N7 million.
