Mix reactions have trailed a video of the father of late singer Ilerioluwa Promise, popularly known as Mohbad, snubbing his estranged wife, the singer’s mother, at the Coroner’s Inquest.
Ahead of the singer’s first remembrance, a Coroner Inquest was held today, Wednesday, September 11th, 2024 in Ikorodu. In a video making rounds online, his father was captured refusing to acknowledge his mother when she greeted him. It is no longer news that the parents have been at loggerheads following his demise, with his mother pitching tent with the singer’s wife, Omowunmi, who she has since fallen out with.
To make it more surprising, Mohbad’s mother drummed support for her former husband at the Inquest as she stated that whatever the singer’s father says concerning their son’s remembrance is the final. She had also appealed to Nigerians to respect their privacy
“Whatever Mohbad’s dad says is the final. We don’t want any elaborate celebration of our son’s remembrance. The best you can do is to pray for him. You all should please leave us alone and let us settle our family”.

Recall that in May, Mohbad’s mother filed a petition against his father for alleged threats to life. In the petition, she expressed that her ex-husband had been threatening her life because she had refused to join him in fabricating lies against Omowunmi, Mohbad’s wife, concerning the late singer’s death. She also stated that her ex-husband has been granting numerous interviews to the press and bloggers on social media.
