“Olu Jacobs is right now about to have Eba and Ogbonna soup” Nollywood veteran Joke Silva has revealed, dismissing the rumour which went viral on social media on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, that her husband is dead.
Joke Silva who recently turned 60 and marked her 40th year in Nollywood told Punch that Olu Jacobs is hale and hearty.
“Don’t mind them, they’re just talking rubbish; don’t disturb your head. He is in the living room right now about to have Eba and Ogbono soup. Let them keep deceiving themselves. He is hale and hearty.” she said.
The 79-year-old made headlines in 2020 after he was rumoured to be dead.
Actress Lala Akindoju who is quite close to Jacobs and his wife, Joke, however, debunked the rumour in a Twitter post saying that she spoke with the man and he was “alive and well”.
A star of several film, TV and theatre productions, Olu Jacobs has been off the acting scene for a while due to age.
Kemi Filani recalls that Olu Jacobs a few weeks ago, paid a surprise visit to a movie set alongside his wife and was excited to see some of his junior colleagues, including Uche Jumbo.
In the video, Olu Jacobs, who is known to be energetic and vibrant, looked old.
