Veteran Nollywood actress Patience Ozokwo has been left emotional after bagging an Honorary Doctorate Degree.
The veteran actress, alongside Yoruba veteran actors Adebayo Salami and Jide Kosoko, was honored with an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Theatre and Media Arts from Achievers Networks Academy, UK. This was to celebrate their illustrious careers and contributions to the entertainment industry.
On Saturday, the actors were conferred with the degree at the Aderinokun Lecture Theatre, University of Lagos, Akoka. The ceremony had in attendance lots of dignitaries, celebrities, and family and friends of the honoree. The veterans were lauded for their enduring legacy, having shaped the Nollywood industry into the powerhouse it is today through their unforgettable roles, mentoring of younger talents, and commitment to promoting African culture.
Taking to her Instagram page to share clips from the ceremony, Patience described it as a movie. She appreciated her fans and the University of Lagos.

Patience would add to the list of veterans in Nollywood with a Doctorate Degree.
Last year, Pete Edochie had bagged two doctorate degrees and an award. The veteran was honored with a doctorate in Literature, another doctorate degree in Arts, and a lifetime achievement award by the International School of Technology and Management, ISTM University, Togo. The honor was given to the veteran for his artistic involvement and grooming in the Nigerian creative industry.
In 2022, Sola Sobowale bagged an honorary doctorate degree in Philosophy from Estam University. Sola shared the good news on her Instagram page as she announced that she is now a doctor and is in a new dispensation.
Also, Ireti Doyle had bagged a Doctorate Degree. Expressing her joy, Ireti revealed that she never foresaw her achievement, as she had envisaged many things for herself but she didn’t see this coming.
To top it off, veteran comedian, Klint Da Drunk was honored with a doctorate degree. Expressing his joy, Klint revealed how surreal his achievement still felt to him. He stated that he wished his father was alive to see his achievement.
