Nigerian media mogul Patrick Doyle has opened up on his divorce from his ex-wife, Ireti Doyle.
In an interview with Olumide Iyanda, the publisher of QED.NG revealed that he harbours no ill feelings towards his ex-wife, even though the outcome of their marriage wasn’t pleasant. Addressing a shady post, he made months back where he praised his mother, sisters and late wife as the best, he clarified that the post wasn’t a shade to Ireti as those people had impacted his life positively. He questioned why people expected him to remember his time with her, especially when it wasn’t pleasant.
Praising the veteran, he stated she is a first-class provider and mother to her children. He noted how she is taking good care of their daughter and providing 360 mothering care to her children.
“As she told you, she was happiest with me. If I am not true to myself, then I am an agbaya. My mother, my sisters, and my late wife that isn’t a shade to anybody; they impacted me in a positive way.
When something didn’t make me happy, why should I remember that fondly? The outcome of our marriage wasn’t pleasant. So why should I lie?
We are very cordial now. Ireti is a first-class provider and a mother to her children. She is taking fantastic care of my daughter. How can I wish her ill? As far as mothers go, they don’t come any better. She provides 360 mothering care”.
Recall that Patrick and Ireti married in 2004, and their divorce was confirmed by the actress in 2023. Ireti Doyle, in a social media post, officially announced that she had divorced her husband, but she is still keeping his name because she had spent years building her brand on it.
Patrick has since moved on from the actress and is now married to a media personality, Funmi Iyanda.
News made rounds in January 2023 that Patrick had found love in the arms of another woman following his divorce from Ireti. Instagram blogger Cutie Julls shared a photo of him in the registry with his new wife as they officially tied the knot.
Months later, Patrick Doyle confirmed the news as he gushed over his new wife while marking Mother’s Day, noting how Mother’s Day is a day to pay tribute to our mothers and all women who have played maternal roles in our lives.
Patrick appreciated the four women in his life who have acted in their capacity towards him – his late mother, his late elder sisters, his late wife, and his new wife. According to him, he has never been happier as his wife has been his new mother, friend, and partner.
The couple had gone on to tie the knot in December, and Patrick Doyle had shared photos from the intimate wedding ceremony.
Recently, Patrick Doyle had sung the praises of his new wife over her cooking skills. Patrick revealed that after his sweetheart, no woman has cooked better meals for him.
