Nigerian music star Paul Okoye, otherwise known as Rudeboy, has mocked Nollywood filmmakers.
Taking to his Instagram story, he shared a video from a Nollywood film, highlighting a glaring mistake in which a crew member, the sound man holding the microphone, was visibly seen in the scene rather than edited.
Expressing disappointment at their mediocrity, Paul mocked the filmmakers for not noticing the mistake before releasing the movie.

In 2023, talented Yoruba actress, Wumi Toriola trended on social media after a video of her changing wigs while acting in the same scene made rounds online. The video sparked reactions as many mocked the continuity manager and director for the error, while others poked fun at the actress.
The movie’s producers, Mide Martins and Afeez Owo had tendered an apology to Wumi, noting that the production crew made an expensive error at the editing stage.
This isn’t the first time a celebrity has called out Nollywood for such mistakes.
Popular photographer Toni Payne publicly criticised the Yoruba filmmakers for the poor audio in their movie productions. In a post on her Instagram story, Toni said she had yet to understand why poor audio was inevitable in every movie.
Veteran Nollywood actor Kanayo Kanayo had called out Nollywood filmmakers who run to the steaming giant platform YouTube for ruining the foundation of the movie industry by creating low-quality content.
Similarly, Yoruba actress Debbie Shokoya had cried out to her colleagues who produce low-quality unworthy movies on the giant streaming app, YouTube. She decried the rate at which people condemn the Yoruba film genre and how she was able to confirm the accusations. She encouraged her colleagues to change the narrative about the Yoruba industry and allow every department for their job.
Also, sometimes back, media personality, Daddy Freeze had tackled Nkem Owoh for commending the efforts of Nollywood practitioners in making our movies highly competitive with foreign movies. Freeze stated that his opinion was untrue as Nollywood is still way behind. Urging the veteran to tell the truth, he opined that Nkem Owoh’s thoughts are a representation of an idealized vacuum.
