Nollywood former couple Saidi Balogun and Faithia Williams have melted the hearts of many with their sweet gesture at the actress’ father’s burial.
Kemi Filani reported in April that Faithia had lost her father to death. She announced his demise on her Instagram page, as she expressed sadness over his death and prayed his soul rests in peace. A week later, the movie star had laid him to rest according to Islamic culture with some of her colleagues in attendance and had penned an appreciation note to the public.
Faithia, on Sunday, held the final burial of his burial, and her ex-husband, Saidi Balogun, was one of the many guests in attendance. In a video posted online, Saidi Balogun was spotted at the event as he discussed with one of the guests.
Another video from the burial ceremony showed the actor on stage with Faithia Williams as he rained money on her.
Recall that in April, Faithia had caused a stir online as she referred to herself by her former married name, Faithia Balogun. The Yoruba actress shocked many when she addressed herself with her former marital title, Faithia Williams Balogun, as she apologised to her fans.
The couple married over 20 years ago at an Ikorodu registry and divorced four years later.
Their divorce was quite messy, and Saidi, who told the court that he could not live under the same roof with his estranged wife due to irreconcilable differences, also demanded, among other requests, that Faithia drop his name, Balogun.
The former couple have made peace, as on Faithia’s birthday in February, Saidi Balogun sent a sweet birthday note to her, showering her with love and prayers. Faithia had also done the same as she sweetly celebrated Saidi Balogun’s birthday.
