Nollywood actor and content creator Adeyemi Elesho, better known as Yemi Elesho, has opened up on his childhood days and early career.
In an interview with Biola Bayo, he revealed that he never knew veteran Yoruba actor Baba Elesho was his father until he was about 10 years old. According to him, his mother showed him his father when they were watching a film.
Yemi also recalled how he ran away from home when his mother wasn’t around and left a letter telling her not to look for him. He said he came to Lagos and had to lie to a family member that his mother was dead. According to him, he came to Lagos to search for his father.
The content creator gave a special shout-out to Yhemo Lee, revealing that the entertainer always pays the bills anytime they go out.
“I started doing skits before we knew it was called skits. I wouldn’t say it was tonight; it wasn’t as smooth as I had expected, being the son of Eleso. I didn’t know that man was my dad for five to ten years. Until, one day, we were watching film and my mother was like that’s your dad.
Shout to Yhemo Lee, as long as you are with him when he is around, he pays our bills. After eating, none of us paid except Yhemo Lee. He would clear all the bills.
My mother wasn’t around when I left. I wore a tight black round-neck shirt and bathroom slippers and left. My mother wasn’t around, but I wrote her a letter telling her not to look for me as I had gone to Lagos. I am only going to see my dad.

In a past interview, Yemi Elesho opened up about his humbling beginnings, recounting how he sold Aboniki, Face towels, and bread to make ends meet before luck smiled on him. Yemi credited skitmaker Woli Agba with helping him kick-start his career, revealing that he never dreamed of being a content creator.
In other news, Yemi called out Femi Adebayo to warn his followers to stay away from him, demanding that the actor accord him his respect despite their age difference.
The video, which appeared to be a joke, roused the attention of Femi Adebayo, who claimed Yemi Alesho’s video was unnecessary.
