Nollywood actor and movie producer Yomi Fabiyi is back on his infamous rants, and he has taken shots at his colleagues, Funke Akindele and Iyabo Ojo.
In a video captured online, Yomi noted that during Baba Ijesha’s saga, Iyabo said she would stop him from travelling. Fabiyi noted that he was married to a British woman for 10 years and has been travelling out of Nigeria for 20 years.
He stated that neither Iyabo nor Funke Akindele had travelled out before him. The controversial actor noted how people told him to sue Iyabo, but he decided not to, as he added that only God can recover all Baba Ijesha lost.
“During Baba Ijesha’s saga, Iyabo Ojo said she would stop me from travelling. I was married to a British woman for 10 years. I have been travelling out of Nigeria for 20 years now. Neither Iyabo nor Funke Akindele travelled out before me. People told me to sue her, but I decided not to. It is only God who can recover all Baba Ijesha has lost. Till today, the court didn’t establish it that Baba Ijesha slept with any child”.
Iyabo and Yomi Fabiyi became sworn enemies during their colleague, Baba Ijesha’s rape saga. The two were major contending forces following the arrest and detention of Baba Ijesha, for allegedly molesting a 14-year-old girl.
Yomi and Iyabo threw shade and publicly dragged each other on Instagram.
In 2021, in a chat that surfaced online, Yomi questioned Iyabo on when they would end their fight. While expressing how much he misses her, Yomi hoped they would settle scores. Yomi added that he and Iyabo should not be enemies because he never sees her as one, but leaves her to make her own decision.
In 2023, during the heat of Mohbad’s death, Yomi dragged Iyabo over her claims on Naira Marley. He questioned why the actress didn’t make any move on it, and yet called herself a mother. He further questioned why she had sent her children, who were adults, to the singer’s house. Expressing disbelief at her statement, he noted how no good mother would allow someone to do such to their offspring and still remain calm.
Not done with her, Fabiyi had alleged that Iyabo was among the syndicate of the controversial gossip blog Gistlover. He faulted Nollywood stakeholders who permitted some people to find their way into their fold, stating they must be held accountable.
However, in December, the controversial actor penned a heartfelt tribute to Iyabo, detailing the reasons for their ongoing rift. Yomi revealed he was yet to reconcile with Ojo until he found closure on Baba Ijesha’s case. He wished the actress well with heartwarming words, stating that a part of him believes in her.
