Moses Saka, a 36-year-old civil servant, was charged in an Upper Area Court in Gwagwalada, Abuja, with using ‘juju’ on a four-year-old girl.
Saka and Joseph, who are still at large, were charged with criminal conspiracy and unlawful juju.
Abdullahi Tanko, the Prosecution Vounsel, told the court that the complainant, Mr Labaran Dikko of Gosa village in Abuja, reported the matter to the police station on December 16, 2022.
According to Tanko, the defendant planned to perform juju on his four-year-old daughter.
He said that during police investigation the defendant confessed that the native doctor performed the ritual in his house (defendant’s house).
The prosecutor said that the offence contravened the provisions of sections 97 and 216 of the Penal Code.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Judge, Malam Abdulkarim Abdullahi, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N500,000 with one reasonable surety in like sum.
Abdullahi said that the surety must reside within the FCT and adjourned the case until March 16 for hearing. (NAN)
