Nigerian award-winning comedian Bright Okpocha, better known as Basketmouth, has stirred the internet with a post about leaving a toxic relationship.
Taking to his Instagram page on Wednesday evening, he revealed that his ex underestimated him and assumed he was weak; little did she know that every new day comes a new strength, new drive, and an unwavering determination to win. He stated that she judged him, made him a mockery of himself, and came at him with everything he had, but eventually, she burnt out.
At the end of the day, he stood taller and stronger than he ever was. He noted how his comeback was so unexpected, but he reclaimed his power. Basketmouth added that as he walks away he can’t help but stop in his glorious stride.
Taking to his comment section, Ayo Makun expressed sympathy for him as he lamented over 2024. He wrote, “Na wa for 2024 o! Ordinary Calendar?”.
Do2dtun wrote, “You are very dramatic. I love it”.
In 2022, Basketmouth announced the end of his marriage with Elsie on his Instagram page. He assured to peacefully co-parent with her in caring for their children and pleaded with the public to respect their privacy.
Last year, Elsie gave a hint to the cause of her crashed marriage as she advised women with cheating spouses. She noted how a woman could be beautiful, sexy, and could have all good qualities, and yet their men would still cheat.
Early last year, an Instagram blogger had unveiled media personality, Victoria as the lady allegedly behind Basketmouth’s crashed marriage. According to the blogger, the two have been having an affair and are still going strong following his separation from his wife and the mother of his kids.
In September, Basketmouth had announced that he was beginning a new chapter of his life with the TV host.
Following the news, media personality, Emma Ugolee took to his Instagram page to congratulate Basketmouth for finding happiness. He also gave a shout-out to Miz Vick for making him feel like a little boy. Emma stated that watching their chemistry is heartwarming as their artistic blend is lethal. He added that knowing the writers, producers, and actors, their story would be beautiful.
Also in September, Victoria had made a promise to Basketmouth as he celebrated his birthday. She prayed for the rest of his years to be the best, as she promised to be by his side.
