Elsie Okpocha, the ex-wife of Nigerian comedian Bright Okpocha, better known as Basketmouth, has given advice to women who are going through divorce or breakup.
In an Instagram video, she told such women to smile again and be happy. Elsie assured them they would overcome whatever they were going through and that something good would happen.
The mother of two noted that such women feel like the other woman is better than them and that they didn’t fight enough. Elsie assured them they did their best and that the other women could never be better than them because they were unique. Elsie also assured them their kids would be fine despite coming from a broken home.
“In celebration of Women’s International Month, I want to say this to every woman out there going through a heartbreak, failed relationship, or marriage: You will smile again and be happy. I promise you. I don’t know how long it will take, but something good will happen. You are going to look back and say, “I can’t believe I went through this.” I promise you.
Now, it feels like your world has ended, and you aren’t getting yourself. Yes, I know that feeling. You feel like the other one is better than you, and you didn’t fight her enough in your marriage. Trust me, you did your best. The other woman was never better than you and can never be better because you are unique in your own way.
You may feel your children will come from a broken home, but trust me, your children will be fine.
So, this is me saying to you, “You will be fine. Go out and thrive.”
Since her separation from her husband and father of her kids, Elsie has been giving out advice to women. Last year, she gave a hint to the cause of her crashed marriage as she advised women with cheating spouses. She noted how a woman could be beautiful, sexy, and could have all good qualities, and yet their men would still cheat.
Early this year, Elsie, had called out Basketmouth for brainwashing their son. She questioned why a father should tell his son of 16 years not to give his mother his password, as she slammed him for trying to frustrate her efforts because she decided to be happy.
Refreshing your memory, in 2023, Basketmouth announced the end of his marriage in an Instagram post. He assured to peacefully co-parent with her in caring for their children and pleaded with the public to respect their privacy.
Early last year, an Instagram blogger had unveiled media personality, Victoria as the lady allegedly behind Basketmouth’s crashed marriage. According to the blogger, the two have been having an affair and are still going strong following his separation from his wife and the mother of his kids.
