Mr Nigeria pageant winner Ugo Nwokolo has shared his thoughts on why Nigerian disc jockey and billionaire heiress Florence Otedola, better known as DJ Cuppy, is still unmarried.
In an interview on the Honest Bunch Podcast, he said the disc jockey isn’t ready to marry yet because she is looking for men of the same social status as her.
Ugo Nwokolo added that if the daughter of Femi Otedola, is ready to get married, she would go through her DMs. He expressed the belief that thousands of men are interested in her and have been reaching out to her through her DMs. Ugo stated that all of the men can’t be gold diggers, and there would always be one or two who love her for who she is.
He stated that the mentality Cuppy has is the same mentality many ladies who are rich and comfortable have, which is that they are looking for men who are in the same status as them rather than going for someone of a lower status.
“DJ Cuppy, personally, I feel she isn’t ready to get married because if she is, there is one thing she needs to do, let her go through her DM across all social media platforms. She is going to see at least tens of thousands of DMS from men. All of the men in her DMs can’t all be gold diggers; at least from that ten thousand DMs, there must be one, two, or three men with genuine intentions who love her for who she is. But she is looking for someone of the same social status as her. That’s the wrong mentality I want to correct. That’s where my advocacy comes in. As a woman, if you are comfortable enough, please go for men who are of lower social status”.
Cuppy had taken her hunt for a husband to the professional social media platform LinkedIn. The philanthropist via her LinkedIn page, shared a crying face of herself as she revealed that she was looking for a finance man who is 6 foot with brown eyes.
Recall that in November, 2022, Cuppy got engaged to British boxer, Ryan Taylor, just a month after knowing each other. Unfortunately, their relationship was short-lived, as in 2023, they parted ways over undisclosed reasons.
Speaking out about it, Cuppy described 2023 as the worst year of her life, as she regretted not turning down her fiance, Ryan Taylor’s proposal.
Since her failed engagement to the British boxer, Cuppy has been on a hunt for a man, especially after hitting the 3rd floor. In November,
Prior to that, Cuppy had declared herself a wife material. The disc jockey shared a photo of her doing laundry as she boldly declared that she is wife material.
She had also had made a deep prayer to God. She prayed that she may be deep in God and that her husband has to seek him first before he finds her.
In May, following her baptism, Cuppy’s mother, Nana Otedola had prayed for a suitor for her. Cuppy had shared a screenshot of her chat with her mum, where she told her that God will give her a man who is running after Him. She stated that now that Cuppy is becoming her best self and united with him, God will send a man her way.
Also in May, while lamenting over her single status, Cuppy revealed how her single status had led her to write ‘Jesus’ in her emergency contact, whenever she was filling out forms. In another post, she had questioned God after receiving a proposal email from an admirer.
Taking her hunt for a spouse to the extreme, she had contemplated switching her taste in men, as she pondered on if she should marry an Indian man.
