Since making their debut late last year, Nigerian singer and songwriter Inetimi Odon, aka Timaya, and his American reality TV star girlfriend, Brooke Baile,y, have been tensioning the internet.
Taking to her Instagram page, the Basketball Wives reality star shared photos of them all loved up in a traditional-themed shoot. While Brooke Bailey dressed like an Igbo bride, Timaya stuck to his roots by looking regal in a Bayelsa attire. The couple was styled by popular celebrity stylist Swanky Jerry.
Kemi Filani reported in December that Timaya had sparked romance rumors with the American reality TV star after they were spotted holding hands while boarding a private jet. The viral video saw the couple walking closely, igniting widespread speculation that they were dating.
To mark the New Year, Brooke had declared love for him as he celebrated his 3rd annual festival hosted in his hometown. She expressed how proud she is of him for bringing boy to his people.
It isn’t surprising to see Timaya dating a foreign lady as in an interview in February, last year, Timaya revealed why he can’t date Nigerian girls. The Dem Mama crooner stated that though he doesn’t have a problem with Nigerian girls, he can’t date them, because they all have the same foundation and upbringing, and as such, the relationship would be toxic. He further went on to compare such relationships as police and thief.
Some years back, Timaya had expressed worry about the difficulties of finding true love. He observed that love has become elusive, resembling a challenging pursuit, and proceeded to inquire of his followers whether it was a personal predicament or if it was also impacting them.
Despite never being married, Timaya has two baby mamas and three kids. He shares two kids with his first baby mama and a son with his second baby mama.
Opening up on their relationship, his first baby mama, Barbara said her relationship broke after Timaya had another woman in his life and was shuttling between her house and the other woman. She stated that despite cutting ties with the singer romantically, they remain good co-parents as she sees the hip-hop sensation as a man who can do anything to make himself happy.
In another interview, she opened up on co-parenting with him, revealing that being a single mum isn’t easy, as she has to act strong even when tired. However, despite the challenges, she was grateful to God for giving her the strength to do this.
