Legendary singer Innocent Idibia, better known as 2baba or 2face, has deleted his Instagram posts announcing his divorce from his wife, Annie Idibia.
Kemi Filani reported on Sunday evening that 2baba, via his Instagram page, had announced his separation from Annie. He revealed that he and Annie have been separated for a while and are on the verge of divorce. He promised to grant a press release to share his side of the story.
The singer, in a follow-up post, claimed that his account was hacked and the post wasn’t true. Surprisingly, he made another U-turn as he shared videos of himself admitting to their crashed marriage.
Kemi Filani did a check on his Instagram page and noticed he had deleted the videos announcing his separation from his wife. The first post on his Instagram page is a video he shared in November of last year, carrying Peter Obi’s bag at an airport.

Following the news of his crashed marriage, Toke Makinwa expressed disappointment in his behavior as she vowed to stand by Annie.

She expressed how angry she was and called 2baba’s behavior disgusting as she noted how 2baba had abandoned Annie during her worst moment when she was crucified by the public.
Delta State Governor’s aide Ossai Ovie Success also slammed 2baba, calling the post insensitive and disrespectful since Annie recently lost twins and was suffering intense backlash for her portrayal on Young, Famous, and African reality show.
Nigerian celebrity designer Toyin Lawani stated that we shouldn’t kick someone when they are already down. She advocated for love, life, and learning.
The divorce announcement came as a shock as just a few days back, Annie had shared clips of her Detty December with 2baba as she gushed over their union. The mother of two told her haters and critics, who she referred to as devil and witches to give it up as it has been 25 years of friendship and 13 years of marriage with her husband.
Recall that in 2021, the Idibia’s marriage almost hit the rock as Annie Idibia publicly called out her husband, accusing him of having an affair with his second baby mama, Pero Adeniyi. However, the couple was able to settle their differences and in 2023, 2baba denounced his role model title after tendering a public apology to her.
