Nollywood actress Biola Bayo has expressed gratitude to the Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke for pardoning 53 convicts.
Kemi Filani reported that in celebration of Christmas, Governor Adeleke had exercised the prerogative of mercy towards 53 convicts. Among the convicts, 30 individuals were recommended for outright release, 10 for pardon due to good conduct and others have had their death sentences commuted to 15 years in prison.
Also, several convicts, including some involved in capital offenses, were recommended for release on medical grounds.
Reacting to the news via her Instagram page, Biola expressed gratitude to the Governor for the grand gesture.
“AND GRACE WAS EXTENDED TO 52 OTHER PRISONERS.
Thank you so much your excellency @aadeleke_01″.
A few days back, Laide had sung the praises of Governor Ademola Adeleke. Taking to her Instagram page to share a photo of her kneeling to greet the Governor, she called him a light and talk and do Governor. Praying for him, Laide hoped that he would reign long.
Last month, Laide celebrated the Governor on his 2nd anniversary as governor of the state. She noted how the Governor had achieved so much in a short time as she expressed how incredible it was to see all he had accomplished. Expressing excitement at his forthcoming projects, she appreciated him for his leadership, inspiration, and hard work.
In February, Laide bagged an appointment as the Senior Special Assistant to the Osun State Governor On Entertainment, Art, Culture, and Tourism.
Speaking out, Laide announced that it was a new dawn for her as the appointment had kick-started her journey into politics. Calling herself honourable, she appreciated the Governor for trusting her and allowing her to serve as she pledged to the people of Osun State.
